Marvel Realm is becoming a more connected place.
This update expands the Social and Community experience with a new suite-wide Realm Chat, richer profiles, improved feed actions, better navigation, and more reliable online features. It also introduces smarter updates, stronger session handling, and several audio improvements designed to keep Marvel Realm stable during longer play sessions.
Here is what is new.
A More Connected Social Experience
Social has received several improvements across feeds, discovery, profiles, achievements, followers, and following.
When opening Social, Marvel Realm now announces that it is loading. This prevents the transition from feeling like a silent wait, especially when the service needs a little more time to connect.
Feed items also provide richer actions. Depending on the activity, you can open the associated user’s public profile or follow a linked target directly from the feed.
Public profiles now include achievements alongside the user’s other available information. Followers and Following lists continue to respect each user’s privacy preferences, so hidden relationship lists will remain private.
Navigation through Social has also been refined. The Back command now works more naturally when moving between nested profiles, follower lists, following lists, and other relationship pages.
When you follow or unfollow someone from their profile, profile counts and list membership will refresh when you return, helping the displayed information remain current.
Open Social and Community During Gameplay
Social and Community can now be opened directly from live gameplay.
Your current game will pause while either section is open and resume after you close it. This allows you to check community activity, visit a profile, or manage a relationship without abandoning your current game.
Marvel Realm will also attempt to return you to the menu and focused item you came from whenever possible.
Menus now preserve their position more reliably when live community features reconnect, reducing unnecessary interruptions while navigating the suite.
Introducing Realm Chat
Marvel Realm now includes a suite-wide global chat.
This feature may be referred to as Realm Chat, Community Chat, or Global Chat. It provides a shared conversation space for the wider Marvel Realm community rather than limiting discussion to a particular game.
Press Control+Backslash to open Realm Chat from menus or active gameplay anywhere in the suite.
Community Chat is disabled by default until you select a language. After choosing your preferred language, you can enter the corresponding community room and communicate with other players.
Improved Game Chat
Game Chat remains separate from Realm Chat and is intended for conversations connected to the game you are currently playing.
Press Control+Slash to open Game Chat.
The shortcut is available from:
- Active gameplay.
- The pause menu.
- Active game menus.
When you close either Game Chat or Realm Chat, Marvel Realm will return you to the previous menu and focused item whenever possible.
Realm Chat and Game Chat now use separate speech buffers as well. This keeps global community messages separate from game-specific conversations, making both easier to follow.
New Speech Buffer Controls
Speech buffer navigation has been updated with a shared set of controls.
Use:
- Page Up and Page Down to move through items in the current speech buffer.
- Control+Page Up and Control+Page Down to switch between speech buffers.
- Shift+Page Up to jump to the first item in the current buffer.
- Shift+Page Down to jump to the last item in the current buffer.
These controls provide a consistent way to review conversations and other buffered speech throughout Marvel Realm.
More Community Chat Commands
Community Chat now supports several commands for communicating with and managing other users.
Available actions include:
- Sending private messages.
- Replying to messages.
- Following users.
- Unfollowing users.
- Muting users.
- Unmuting users.
- Opening a user’s profile.
Command and username suggestions now appear while you type. These suggestions make it easier to discover available commands and select the correct user without entering every command or username manually.
Mute, follow, and unfollow changes also synchronize more reliably with your Sonorous Arts account.
Better Connection Recovery
Marvel Realm’s live community systems now recover more effectively after connection drops and expired sessions.
Sign-in and session handling have been improved across account features, Social, and Community. This helps the suite reconnect cleanly when your connection changes or your session needs to be refreshed.
Online feature checks now take place quietly in the background rather than slowing down gameplay. Marvel Realm can keep your account and community status current with fewer interruptions.
Safer and Smarter Updates
The Marvel Realm update system has received several reliability and safety improvements.
Updates now perform stronger checks before installing anything. When an update cannot be completed, Marvel Realm provides clearer information about what went wrong.
Files that are already current will now be skipped instead of being downloaded or replaced unnecessarily.
Updates that require a restart will finish correctly the next time Marvel Realm launches. Permission problems are also detected earlier, allowing the suite to report them before beginning an installation that cannot be completed.
These changes make future updates faster, safer, and easier to understand.
Improved Audio Performance
Audio handling throughout Marvel Realm is now faster and more stable.
The improvements include better handling of:
- Positional audio.
- Sound effects.
- Extended play sessions.
- Complex audio environments.
The bundled audio engine has also been refreshed for improved compatibility and stability.
These changes help Marvel Realm maintain a steady audio experience, especially during games that use many simultaneous sounds or continue running for long periods.
Refreshed Documentation
The Marvel Realm documentation has been updated to cover the latest changes to:
- Community and Realm Chat.
- Game Chat.
- Social and public profiles.
- Followers and following.
- Shared controls.
- Speech buffer navigation.
- Updates and installation.
We recommend reviewing the Community and shared-controls documentation to become familiar with the new chat shortcuts and speech buffer commands.
Join the Realm
Open Marvel Realm, choose your Community Chat language, and press Control+Backslash to join the conversation.
Whether you are discovering players through Social, checking achievements, chatting with the wider community, or speaking with players in your current game, staying connected is now easier than ever.
