Take Control of Your Live Stream: New Chat Features in Broadcast Studio

We are excited to roll out a quality-of-life update for the Sonocast Broadcast Studio web app. We know that managing a live stream requires focus, and sometimes you need total control over how your audience interacts with you. To help with this, we have added two new toggle switches directly inside the Live Chat panel in your studio. You can now adjust these settings in real-time while you are on air:

How they work:

-Enable/Disable Chatting (Read-Only Mode) When you toggle this OFF, the chat becomes "read-only" for your listeners. * Listeners: Can still read the chat history and see new messages sent by you, but they cannot send any messages themselves. * Host: You maintain full access to send messages, announcements, or links. - Chat Visibility (Hidden Mode) When you toggle "Chat Visible to All" OFF, the chat effectively disappears for the audience. * Listeners: Cannot see the chat interface, cannot read old history or new messages, and cannot send messages. * Host: You can still see the entire chat history and send messages. Note: Your listeners will not see these messages (or the previous history) until you toggle visibility back ON.

How to use:

  1. Open the Broadcast Studio.
  2. Expand the Live Chat panel.
  3. You will see the new configuration switches right at the top of the chat window.

These features are live now! Start your stream, head over to the studio web app, give them a try, and let us know what you think .
